Updating Msn Explorer

updating msn explorer
Issues with Internet Explorer 7!!?

My computer has been setup to receive automatic updates. Because of this my Internet Explorer was updated to 7. Since then, upon restarting, IE7 automatically starts and goes to to http://iesettingsupdate, which is actually a blank page. However, if I close it down and start IE7 again I am able to browse, but it eventually freeze and crashes.

Some months ago Norton Antivirus was removed from my computer; I mention this, because by reading some replies to previous questions, I’ve learned that this could be a reason for the problem.

If the problem is indeed due to fragments of Norton on my computer, how do I find out and how can I remove it? Also, how would I reinstall either IE7 or 6 without causing further problems?

FYI… currently I have Avant Browser, Mozilla Firefox, and MSN Explorer loaded on my computer, and I’m not really thrilled with any of them.

Thanks!

This link tells you how to re-install IE 6 on your computer.

And to make sure Norton is totally removed you may to go into the program file and physically remove the folders themselves. I am assuming you uninstalled through add remove programs. I had to do this with a McAffee product a few months ago. I was a huge pain and took a while but it worked. Here is one website that deals with compleatly uninstalling Norton.
