Why has a local county in New York State not answered my speeding ticket response?
The officer told me to respond by mail before Dec20 and i did, i got it registered and tracked that it was delivered and signed on Dec2. Should i wait longer for a response or is Dec 20 and actual court date. I am Canadian and the officer kindly told me how to respond by mail. I want a court date and that is how i responded.
It isn’t the county that you are waiting to here from. Traffic violations are heard in local town and village justice courts. You have nothing to worry about. Call the Court and talk with the clerk. If you sent it in, they are processing it. In NY many of our rural justice courts are antiquated; some are in barns and basements. They may only be there on certain days and only for a few hours. Most have answering machines some have fax machines and some even have computers. If your ticket was returned to a rural court, these are some ofnthe challenges you’ll face.
