do charges affect crossing into the US border?
I got two charges, stunt driving and speeding, recently (october 15th). The first court date is set for november 17th, but I was planning on going down to the states around then. Will it affect crossing from Canada into the US? I’m going to be travelling directly after the first court appearance from Ontario to Florida. I was also going to fly to Mexico from Ontario in January 2010, if I’m convicted and fined will that be an issue?
The speeding ticket will not affect you at all, I have no idea what the stunt driving is even considered, But since both are driving offenses I would just not be in the drivers seat when I came thru. Even though I doubt if stunt driving would be any worse that reckless driving and that does not make a difference at the border. They are looking more for distrubances like fighting or drugs. Those will keep you out. Also it will depend on where you come in at. You can come across the eastern Montana crossings with no problems at all. West of Michigan are always easier to get in because you have to drive for lots of hours to get to anything.
