What is the age of consent with dating a minor for military personel?
If 19 year old military male and 16 year old high school girl are dating, what can happen to the male? They live in Maryland which the law says the age of consent is at 16, but he is not sure about he military law. What are the possible troubles that he may get into? Such as going military big, etc.
The military might constitute sex with anyone that you are not married to as an act of “adultery”, under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, Article 134 punishable up to 10 years in prison. If you lie about it, they will tack on another 10 years.
While it may be true that neither one of you are currently married, the military might take actions against the military member that might not be consistant with civil law: The military can do MANY things that civilian law can’t.
Bottom line for me, find someone 18 or older.
