How Interracial Dating Effects Society

how interracial dating effects society
For Black Men ONLY: How does the way society view us effect you in your everyday life?

I’m sure you know what I’m talking about; the negative stereo types, what black women have to say about us,the way the media portrays us, the court system, the way other races view us and your experience with interracial dating if that applies and so forth. Does this have any mental effects on you? If so, how do you cope?
I find it interesting not only in how many people answered this question who do not fit into the category of the subject here, but also how much ignorance can rob a person of intellect….. condra and white delight. By the way, I’m a PHD candidate so don’t assume that I’m in the “I blame the man for all of my problems” category.

It effects me because everyone likes to fit black men into this little box. Not much was expected of me in high school and people were always surprised when I recieved awards for my academic achievement. I wasn’t really surprised by how I was percieved though. According to most people, me, and many of my friends, fit the profile of the “stereotypical black boy” The way I dress, talk, ect. but I don’t care imma be me. I went to one of the better schools around, but I wasn’t about to change all of a sudden just because of that. People liked to apply thug stereotypes to me as well. I got used to it after while, I don’t really care anymore but its still annoying when people think you are uneducated.
