Would you go out with someone you found really attractive even if everyone else thought they were ugly?
As an extreme example, what about that Twilight Zone episode, with the woman who was “different” looking and everyone else had a pig face?
How much do people find looks to be important in terms of their own preferences, and how much of it is society’s preference? would you still be happy with a person you found attractive even if the person was exceptionally ugly by society’s standards?
(No, looks aren’t everything. But I am curious about this aspect of dating.)
We would all like to think we would be master of our own hearts but the sad sad truth is we are governed by our wish to be accepted by everyone else
No matter how nice friendly kind great fun company etc etc someone is, if they do not tick the socially acceptable box( I mean look good on a guys arm or make his pals envious or turn heads in the pub) then it will not happen. The old expression beauty is in eye if beholder counts for nothing anymore.
A girl has to be pretty cute hot stunning whatever, if not they may as well go to the mountains and live in a cave.
