Easier Dating On Facebook

what’s the deal with facebook anyway?
A lot of people say that facebook rocks and myspace sucks. But I tried facebook and it just seems like a list of shit to me. Myspace at least gives an interesting looking front page for stuff whereas facebook looks more akin to a wikipedia entry. There some graphical page I’m overlooking? Seems it’s easier to find people on myspace too, especially for online dating. how do you even find people on FB? there something I’m missing?
In my opinion, MySpace targets people from 6th through 8th (or even 9th) grade. Facebook is for high schoolers and college students to keep contact with their own friends (and also make new friends). Many people like Facebook BECAUSE it doesn’t LOOK like MySpace! xD However, Facebook now has TONS of applications and stuff that can just clutter anyone’s profile (if (s)he adds it onto his/her profile).
Since Facebook is targets older teens and people in their 20′s, they want the design to look “mature” and classy, not “junior high and fun” like MySpace, which targets a younger crowd.
It’s really easy to find people on Facebook, as long as they want to be searched, haven’t blocked you, and/or have an account on there. =) There’s always a search bar on the top left corner of any Facebook page and you just need to type in the name and press search.
Also, before October 2006, Facebook was purely by friend invites ONLY, so there was more “truthful” profiles (as I’d put it). Since it’s by invitation only, people weren’t really that afraid to put their real name and real info into their profiles. However, after that date, Facebook allowed ANYONE to make an account (or multiple accounts) and they pretty much don’t have to associate themselves with any networks, so now it’s less “truthful” and more dangerous. :X But you can always change your privacy settings, so that’s good. =D
I hope that helps!
