Dating Your Boss
Is it a good idea to invite your boss on a date?
I like my boss a whole lot and I find her very attractive, but I’ve always wonder about if it’s a good idea for someone to date his own boss. I don’t care if she has more power of money than me, I just want a shot at dating her. I wonder if she cares that she’s my boss and has more money and power than me. What do you think?
sure. Why not? Other than the fact that marriages where the male earns less money than the female have a much higher failure rate than the other way around…. there is nothing wrong with it.
I dont know why women divorce men who earn less money then them more readily than they divorce men who earn more money than them. That seems like a paradox and counter to what I would have expected to learn from my research of divorce.
if it werent for employee dating.. 1000000000s of us out here wouldnt have been born. The workplace is one of the major places where couples meet (despite occasional corporate rules that forbid that).
My mom went over the head of her boss… and married the business owner (my dad). The running family joke is that her boss (who is a family friend to this day 30+yrs later) was JUST about to fire my mom because she had a tendency to leave work early..but then he heard thru the grapevine “you cant fire her. she is dating the owner” and from that minute on he had to treat her like she was his boss (which she ultimately became after my dad passed).
So when you date the power.. you become the power. That is what intimidates coworkers.
So I say go for it. The downside is that you are male. males get sued for sexual harassment and…..so.. you take your chances. If she likes you… you will have a great relationship. If she doesnt like you that way… you could end up fired and sued for sexual harassment.
My mom never had to worry about something like that. You as a male, do.
