Question for old timers about lumber size.?
In USA, typically what year did sawmills change the size of a 2 X 4 to be the current size of 1 3/8″ X 3 1/2″?
This one is going to date you guys

Here is another. Approximately what year did square nails get replaced by round nails?
I am doing some historical dating of old pioneer structures, that is why I ask these questions.
