How would you feel if your spouse started smoking?
How would you feel if your spouse started smoking. If your spouse quit smoking for you when you started dating him/her but then started again after you got married how would you react? What would you do?
This often happens – unfortunately. It depends on how assertively you told your spouse that you were against smoking. If you made a firm stance on it from the outset and told your spouse that you were dead against smoking then your spouse started smoking, he/she would know that what they were doing was against what you personally felt was attractive. You need to talk to your spouse about this smoking and how it will affect your relationship, and eventually you may have to tell him/her that he/she has to choose between the smoking and you, if you feel it is this big a problem. Personally I could not go out with a smoker, not to mention the damage it does to your home, passive smoking, kids, etc etc. You shoud at the very least insist it happens outside the house but you could also refuse to kiss this person if they tasted like an ashtray.
