Dating Gifts For Him
Would it be appropriate to give a father’s day gift to a man I just started dating? Any gift ideas?
I’ve been seeing a man for about three months. He’s a single dad with two teenage kids. I was thinking about buying him a small token for Father’s Day.
I think it would mean a lot to him because so far in the relationship he’s the one that wants commitment and a serious relationship. He even wants me to meet his kids but I told him that I’m not ready for that.
What do you think?
First of all, all these people who are saying you shouldn’t give him a Father’s Day gift because that would mean you think he’s YOUR dad are ignorant.
It is perfectly acceptable to give ANY father a Father’s Day gift — they even make Father’s Day cards specifically designed to give to men who are not your dad. Last year I gave one of my friends a Father’s Day gift (because it was his first Father’s Day as a dad 
) and he was all smiles about it.
Having cleared that up, I know why you are struggling with this. The 3-month mark is a tricky time — it happens to be where I am at with my bf too. I think giving him a gift would be very sweet of you, tho. And I really don’t think it’s too soon — especially since you say he is the one hoping to be serious.
There were already some great suggestions above, and I also agree that it may be time to meet the kids soon. I think no later than 6 months would be your best bet.
