Do law schools accept people with arrest records?
I was STUPID and dated a drug addict.
I have a possession of paraphenalia- misdemanor
Battery-misdemeanor
Will these arrests prevent me from getting into a law school and practicing law?
They won’t necessarily prevent you from law school or practice, but you will find yourself having to explain yourself a lot on both your law school and bar applications. As long as you are honest and can demonstrate a marked change in behavior, your chances aren’t completely awful. It also matters how long ago these happened- if it was within the past 2-3 years, I’d hold off until you can show them a consistent cleaned up record.
