is it safe to give credit card owner name, number and exp. date to an operator to order something by phone?

i want to order stuff by phone and pay by CC.
the operator asked me to give him the name, number, and exp date of the CC.

as you can see, i never done that b4.. donno anything about it.

Generally, you can be safe in giving out credit card numbers, expiry dates and card owner names by telephone, if you are comfortable with the merchant.

If they are reputable, they will take steps to ensure their customer service reps are trustworthly enough not to use the details for nefarious purposes.

So you should be safe.

However, there have been many cases where a store clerk or waiter at a restaurant uses a ‘scanner’ to basically swipe your card twice and keep the data to use later for financial fraud.

So, while it is not 100% safe…..it is still safe enough to do if you take proper caution….like knowing the merchant, checking your account balance and billing details frequently.

Is Phone Dating Better Than Online Dating Or Facebook?
