Dating Bipolar Man
Please help me.. My Man is Bipolar and?
we have a distant relationship.. due to private matters. But, I know he loves me very much.. We have been dating for over 11 months.. nearly a year actually, and he had a breakdown nearly two weeks ago.. his bipolar was terrible and he was also drinking very heavily.
Thing is, I dont know much about this disorder and I am far from him. He was released from rehab yesterday.. and we always chat on yahoo.
He never pitched.. I phoned him and asked him to log on.. and he said okay.. but never logged on!
I am worried and I need to know.. could he have completely changed due to new meds? or could he be on some kind of sleeping tablet that just does not let him wake up properly..
he is never like this.
please help.

If he doesn’t accept help and take his meds his personality can shift in the blink of an eye. I dated a man who was also bipolar. I couldn’t handle it. He drank, wouldn’t follow his counsellors directions, and so on. At times he was a great guy and I really enjoyed his company …but the rest of the time…. well….. it just wasn’t the way I’d want to live for the rest of my life. You can Google the Johns Hopkins Hospital site and type in “bipolar disorder” and you’ll find a lot of info. Good luck.
