What was the name of the first men to cross the atlantic ocean by airplane from Portugal to Brasil?
I do not the exact date but I think it was in the 1900′s
The first men to cross the Atlantic ocean by airplane from Portugal to Brazil were Carlos Viegas Gago Coutinho (usually knowned as Gago Coutinho) and Artur de Sacadura Freire Cabral (usually knowned as Sacadura Cabral).
The journey started in Lisboa (Lisbon), at 16:30h (Portuguese time) in 30th March of 1922 and ended in Fernando de Noronha (Brasil) in the day 18th of April. Note that between the 5th and 17th April they stopped at Cabo Verde for reparing the plane.
By the way they flew using using for guidance only any instrument created by Gago Coutinho called Sextante (don’t know the English name for it). It allows to measure the angle between 2 objects – usually the horizon and Sun or Moon.
